A very happy new year to everyone on the allotments.
It was good to see so many people working on their plots today, despite the way the weather went all seasonal on us later. We need to make full use of every opportunity we get between deluges to get our plots as ready as possible for when things start to happen in spring - and spring seems to come earlier and earlier these days. We had a good helping from our purple-sprouting broccoli today, at least a month earlier than usual - and it was delicious!
I think we should congratulate ourselves, as everyone paid their rent before the year end, something I don't think we've achieved before. Our hard-working and totally indispensible treasurer won't have to spend most of the spring chasing people for money, which will let him spend more time on his plot.
Let's make this a good year (if the weather lets us).
Best wishes
CAAS Chair
